I think that you make an interesting point .I'm not into SUP .I dont surf without a kite and I'm not really for it or against it but one thing that comes to mind is why can what is essentially a small boat, ride with a pilot of any experience (say 5 mins) amongst surfers whereas a kitesurfer with a board that is smaller than a surfboard and a rider of many years experience have to stay at least 30 m away from other water users ?
I guess technically they can ....as far as the marine law goes............
although it only happens rarely as most of the time ... within minutes of paddling out they get sent in


and just for the record Im not bagging SUP it does look like fun and a good way to kep fit etc.. etc....
I just think there is a time and a place for it.... and in the lineup amongst surfers is NOT it.
Hence my encouragement for Street SUP
