I'm sure that street SUP is going to be massive in 2011. Really massive. So massive in fact that I for 1 would like to try it out. I mean I would try it out but I'm thinking you would have to be smoking crack to make such a fool of yourself. Say no to D*ugs. Say NOOOOOOOOOOO to street SUP!

I would encourage all SUP riders to get involved in street SUP

That way they can stay out of the lineup .....
........and the rest of us wont have to worry about SUP riders who ditch their boards whenever a decent wave looms.

How about a little tolerance ? how about giving it a go ? heaps of my mates thought it was lame till they tried it at corona- now 4 of them have poles...

We as kiters were the original rollerbladers of the ocean and listen to us mouthing off like we are the cool kids.

It's great fitness, awesome fun and makes skating accessible to all- so if that's lame then lame is the new awesome !

Ha you pay out rollerbladers loverboy when the guys who push the limits of rollerblading have way more balls then anyone in kiteboarding.......

So you cant expect any tolerance in return for sidewalk surfing with a stick..

I think that you make an interesting point .I'm not into SUP .I dont surf without a kite and I'm not really for it or against it but one thing that comes to mind is why can what is essentially a small boat, ride with a pilot of any experience (say 5 mins) amongst surfers whereas a kitesurfer with a board that is smaller than a surfboard and a rider of many years experience have to stay at least 30 m away from other water users ?

i would have too agree with you on this one loverboy i went to corona and did the street sup leg in the relay and had a ball its always good to try new things you might even like it. i kite, skate ,surf and snowboard its just an extra thing you can do when there is no wind or snow. as for people like SIR..... what ever his name is he has a go at everything judgeing from all his posts does he ever leave the house was he at corona no he was probley sitting at his computer waiting to criticize someone else.

I guess technically they can ....as far as the marine law goes............

although it only happens rarely as most of the time ... within minutes of paddling out they get sent in

and just for the record Im not bagging SUP it does look like fun and a good way to kep fit etc.. etc....
I just think there is a time and a place for it.... and in the lineup amongst surfers is NOT it.

Hence my encouragement for Street SUP

Some peoples minds are closed.

Some people are too cool for the rest.

Some people miss out on fun.

it just seems so pointless to use a stick to propel yourself skating when you have two perfectly good legs with feet attached which work 10 times more efficient.

its just plain silly...someone just wants to sell some sticks!

Don't knock it til you've tried it

sometimes you don't need to try it to know its wrong (eg getting intimate with your mum, licking a public toilet seat, street SUP)

Thats Gold Right there! Can't argue with such a valid point. Convinced me that little voice in my head was right and not to bow to peer group pressure!
