Hi
Is there much happening on the Mornington peninsular and in Australia in Kitesurfing and Land boarding? The reason I ask is ,we are going to set up in or around the Mornington area. We are based in the UK on the Isle Of Wight . www.racingfinish.co.uk

Doesn't this forum say it all? Kitesurfing is massive, Mornington Peninsular is pretty popular, especially around Rosebud for flat water. I'm sure a Melbourne local will fill you in, I haven't been in Melbs for 3 years now.

I kite down there a fair bit, It's crap and I'd recommend you don't f****n come. Try New Zealand instead. Nah, only joking, the front beaches have been pretty good for flat water riding this winter. I don't think it's such a good summer spot tho' as back beaches facing the prevailing summer winds are pretty gnarly, steep beaches, not too big in some cases, can get crowded (non kiters) and waves often heavy and closing out. Western port around pt leo in a s-se is good but high tide only is the go. Good luck with it dude.

i kite the mornington peninsula mainly cause i live here! i have found that it is an alright place, but the beaches do get crowded on a nice summer day. best thing is kiting on a week day, cause of the empty beaches. there are some beaches that dont get ppl at all, these are the ones we rig up at cause of the vast space and lack of spectators for when i am learning stuff. only downside is the 3 car carpark anf 205 steep steps to the beach (yes we count them after a long sesh).

there's a few of us down this way, every now and then u see 3 or 4 kites at the local beach, and its always when i am workin but yeah, if the dude who flies the yellow PL Bomba is on this forum, say hello!

but yeah, come set up down this way, as there's no stores, so ppl have to travel 50-60min to the nearest "good" shop and lessons........also i need a job for summer!!
