Its pretty clear we need some dedicated kite space in Perth...Euros v ozzies oldies v young uns dickheads v the rest of us, so my idea ..... do the navy really need Garden Island FFS. Or what about this crazy idea Kite/windsurf only beaches during the season. no walkers or swimers. There more money brrought into the economy through our hobbies than walkin bleedin dogs !!! Just an idea

They do it in Spain and the walkers and bathers ignore it but the kiters are squeezed into narrow sections of the beach which naturally causes havoc and police nicking your gear if you crash and burn in non kite spots. Trust me (a Euro) that you do not want to go down this route, only kiters will lose out.

You obviously dont own 2 dogs that cost as much to feed as a teenager. Not to mention the vet bills !!!! Dogs are pulling their weight in keeping the $'s churning.

Most definitely correct there! Kitesurfing and windsurfing wouldnt even be a quarter of what the pet industry is worth in Australia, not to mention the US and UK.

I think in 2009 / 2010 the pet industry bought in around 6 billion a year.

It would be a no brainer for the city of joondalup if an ultimatium was given at pinneroo where the two groups currently co exist.

miles of beach up at wedge and miles and miles of beach all up and down the coast, but every loves to kite in smooth water with 40 other guys...

I am lucky enough to live out of the Metro area (south) and regularly kite solo. On odd occasion somebody from the city with a sense of adventure shows up and it's cool. We have a chat about not letting the world know about the spot and enjoy the session.
There are miles of uncrowded beaches for those prepared to travel a little further.
