yes mate,
go to the store and try every harness in your size.everyones shape is different so you need to do this . also narrow it down to a couple and try spreader bar pads if they don`t come with them. it`s the one thing that can make your kiteing enjoyable or misrable. if you get chafeing also try a product called bepanthen ,you can get it from the chemist its amazing stuff.[used for rashes on babies]
remember just because it looks great doesn`t mean it is going to be comfy for everyone. i use a cabrinha impact waist harness with a dekine spreader bar pad with a quick release.i tried 15 on before making a decission and its worth it.
hope this helps cheers stu.

people buy the darkrider because it's a little cheaper than the "warrior" ...but the warrior is a sp!t load better harness.

My mate bought the darky instead of the warrior and he regrets it! He has the same problems as you haVE mentioned.

I've had the warrior for 2 years now and (apart from back up lousy service from the guys who import them) have had good use from them.

i bought last year's warrior and it was the most uncomfortable harness i have ridden in. it tore the skin of my hips, waist and back every session.
went back to a dakine pyro, more comfy and no more skin loss.
its exactly as vader said; everyone is different, try as many as you can

Yeah I don't find the warrior so comfortable either, and it's rubbing the hell out of the skin on my hips. I did test half a dozen before I bought it and it is comfortable, the pain really only gets noticable after a few consecutive days kiting. But then it's quite irritating, and it's rubbing holes in my rashie.

meh, all harnesses suck in one way or another. i only have a problem with my mystic if i dont have my radiator under it. otherwise im willing to give up a bit of skin for the suicide system and looks.
also if you have it tight then i find it doesn't rub as much.

I've had my Mystic Warrior for nearly 2 yrs now. It was my first waist harness.
It rubs skin off the hips and low back.
I just assumed all waist harness's did that. Short sessions are OK but for long sessions I have to put strapping tape on the skin.

I had a Prolimit Felix Pro before the Mystic Warrior. Much easier on the skin, used to ride shirtless a lot before I got sun-smart, but the damn thing sat about three inches too high and I was forever hitching it down. Wore holes in the padding where I used to grab it to pull it.

The one before that was a POS that literally tore in half one day while I was riding. Off went kite, safety leash and harness all together into the dunes leaving me sitting in the water wondering what happened.

Looks like I just haven't found the right harness for me yet.

Yeh man, I have the same thing with my prolimit. I tighten around my waist before I launch until it almost hurts and it STILL slips up to my lower ribs.. I'm at the stage where Im just ignoring it now... or trying to.

They all do especially if you go shirtless or a tshirt. When I wear my long sleeve (anti skin cancer) LS rashie 2mm I never get rub. Thats my tip or grease up with a tub of vaseline.

I have a Dakine seat harness
its about 3/4 years old now - and still going strong.
i had it repaired once about 3 yrs ago, where the straps go around yer bum - basically i ripped these straps off from an accidental landing on my a$$ in 1 inch of water when learning- the attachement points here on the model i have were pretty weak.
The upholsterer stitched some way stronger pads on to spread the load. - no probs since then.
i would get another Dakine anyday.

No rashes or bits digging in ect.
Have been very happy with it.

I've got a 3 1/2 years old Naish seat harness that is super comfy (very plush neoprene and padding) and has taken a thrashing. Unfortunately the latest Naish seats are poxy and cheap with nowhere near as much padding. stingy Robbie Naish - shame on you mate - go back to windsurfing... Oh he did...
