Most shops have got it in stock by now I think, has anyone got some feedback? Its supposed to be a Rebel on steroids but not according to some of the locals around here!?

Yeh I tried it nice kite , I guess the thing I liked most about it although its a hybrid it definitely has a C kite feel, and the technique to jump is exactly the same as a C.

Turning is not fast but its not slow either, basically if you want a kite that flys fast and boosts big this is the kite for you and the kite depowers like a bow.

It also shows you dont need bridles and pulleys which is nice so you do have that direct feel with the kite.

hangtime,
check in the gear review section, there was a topic with review on the kite + another topic on the general forum called "rhino 07 video"...

Hey EM have you taken it into the surf yet? how's it handle compared to the Rebel in the surf. Trying to decide beween the rebel and the rhino but probly wait for the 08 gear to come out to make sure all the kinks are ironed out, that and i have to save up the coin. If i had a million dollars........ We've all got our own version of the song

Hey Chris,
due to the howling wind conditions on the northern beaches (), actually, I haven't had many opportunities to take it in the surf, but once down the coast, on light wind... And once up the coast on howling wind (in a "barely touching the water" session...)!
My first impression was that it was doing the job as well as the Rebel (I first thought that it was turning a bit slower, but I since took that one back: it does achieve the same turning speed (May be even more....just need to be a bit more direct with the bar, that's all)). I didn't think it would be the case, but I actually find this kite awesome in waves (good depower, turning like a rocket...). It does the job so well that I'm not using my Rebel any more (when I thought I'd keep it for wave riding!)... But remember, I'm pretty pathetic in waves, so may be a more experienced rider's feedback would be more objective... But I'm stocked with this kite!
Rebel or Rhino, from my point of view, I'd say it depends if you want something that's user friendly and forgiving (the Rebel allows you to do a lot more mistakes than the Rhino!), or something punchy and aggressive...
They are very different kite, the rebel is a lot more gentle, and the big plus of the Rhino, to me, really is the boost and hang time. It's a kite way more radical than the Rebel...
I'd let you have a go with mine for a smile if you want, so you can check it out yourself...

Still wondering around with my 4 toro's. Feel like a bit of a pack mule compaired to T with her one kite. I'm going to start looking into the forcasts night before and take the gear into work with me think I can fit two kites in one bag with my gear and hopefully hit up longy and try out the surf (i'm home alone ). Haven't kiteed in surf since we first moved here down at wanda took me two hours to untangle the lines what a mess . But still love playing in waves so its time to get good at it. Hope to buy one of the beat up surf boards from Dripping Wet and maybe through a little more glass on it at work and some inserts for straps. Thats all beside the point though. Going to try out the two R's at the end of the year (thanks for the offer) and pick one just not sure which. It will probly come down to bottom end as I love 12m kites anything bigger is a bit of a bear and I'll have to get a really big board for my fat ***. Thems the breaks
