Hang that bar on your wall as an heirloom.........Used bars are cheap... get a newer model......

It's not set up to make use of the pulleys that is true, but all it takes is for you to move the loops off the knots on the lines at Point 9 and attach them to the pigtails up at points 1 & 2.

My first kite was a 2007 Naish Boxer that was initially set up 2:1 - The theory was you got twice the depower for half the bar throw. Unfortunately the bar pressure was huge as a result and a small input on the bar led to a twitchy kite. Putting it 1:1 made a huge difference in my learning curve as small inputs to the bar weren't leading to the kite turning as quickly - handy when the water start was still a bit of a challenge.

One of the theories on Naish using it was with the increased depower on 2:1 they weren't setting themselves up for liability suits due to n00bs getting smashed on the beach even when they dropped the bar.

It's true that around the time Naish used to use a shorter bar for their smaller kites but I used my 12 m bar on a 9 m Helix with no dramas.

You can use that bar on any 4 line kite where the front and back line lengths need to be the same length when the bar is pulled up hard to the chicken loop (Which is pretty much every 4 line kite).

The way you have that bar set up is in "freestyle" mode (mini 5th line - point 5). If you pull the chicken loop the kite doesn't flag to one line - which makes sense if you are doing unhooked moves and dropping the bar a lot. Otherwise your leash is meant to attach to the loop at Point 1 and to a little loop you attach to the spreader bar. The leash is meant to be under a bit of tension (elasticated) so it doesn't end up wrapping around the end of the bar, putting tension one of the back lines and sending you into death loops, which was the real design flaw associated with it. It also meant if you looped the kite (either in the air or on the water relaunching) you ended up with the leash twisting up with the depower lines, which could limit your bar travel. Now the flagging line runs down through the bar and onto the chicken loop so you don't have this issue.

I liked the above-the-bar depower on this bar - it's easy to adjust compared to the below the bar systems but I still prefer my 2012 Naish Bar overall.

My advice would be to leave it how it is, and maybe change it back to the flagging option rather than the mini 5th setup - or, get a new bar.

So the pulleys on the bar in 1:1 setup don't make kite feel delayed or weird?
Now i am looking for newer used bars for replacement:
1) North Trust Bar Quad Control 2010 - is it 5 or 4 line? Quad says for 4. Will it be compatible with helix kite?
2)CORE SENSOR bar 2010 - seller says that it is compitable only with core kites.

Pulleys don't do anything in 1:1 setup.

North 4 line bars are compatible with Naish kites.

I'd hunt down a newer Naish bar - they work well on the Helix kites.

Now i got a different problem.
When i drive and it is marginal wind - everything is ok, but when there are coming gusts- kite pulls bar from hands so then i drive in one hand. For example if right leg goes first, then left hand is keeping bar and right is free.
I measured depower line between safety release and bar = 70 cm and there is no stopper. So i guess maybe to put stopper or not?
Or just get newer bar - on offer there are 12 year LF and 09 year best bar. But then the bar lines should be readjusted to helix 14 m2? And if i want to use it for envy 9m then again readjust needed? Can be different brand kites driven with one bar??
