I don't know if anyone else has to put up with this, but after 6hrs on the water today, yesterday and the day before, my knees are really really sore. I feel like they have been used more than they should have.

I'm hoping kiting wont effect my knees later in life....

Does anyone take or do anything to help repair your knees after kiting?

Someone said Cod Fish oil, but I can only find Cod Liver Oil, and thats labelled for helping your skin and eyes.....?

any fish oil is a good lube for the joints...i would get yourself some gloucosamine tablets or powder and take that daily. I can tell the difference since i started taking it a few months ago. I have some early arthritis in my knee due to a nasty break of my leg in june 2005. the gloucosamine has basically built up some new cartalige and makes it run a lot smoother. I know a lot of people swear by it. Rich

I know the feeling.

Im only 18, and after one day kiting for maybe 3 hours max, my knees ache like mad too.

Ive tried a lot of 'natural remedies' recently, but the only thing ive found that actually has some benefit for my knees is glucosamine.
it doesnt seem to be able to totally eliminate the pain, but most definately helps.

Peace out.

Glucosamine Mitochondrite with MSM is your best bet....

So I tore my Medial Collateral back in March 05, and the only way I have been able to get it even close to back to normal has been this, and a heap of physio.

Also, look at bending a little more at the knee, making your quads take more of the pressure changes, rather than any jolts vertically from a straighter knee position. Have a look online for some of the physio exercises that help build up your "VMO"...

best of luck dude.... if there is swelling... ice on then off 30 mins each, 4 times...

my kness are shot and im using the old fishoil and Glucosamine tablets, still early for me but it seems to be the answer. I also try and stretch before, and usually after a few hour try and stretch em again, it helps me.
