With quotes of the day being topical right now here's a few I've made up that may suit here :-
"Those who know nothing should say even less"
"Those who think they know best should think again"
"Those who do know best are probably the last to be certain of the fact"
My take on the whole kitejam "thing" is that the competition part is secondary to the main theme. Kitejam is a social kiting day out for everyone - just as members told waksa they wanted. Even the competition side of it is also purely a 'fun comp' with very informal peer group voting of best overall impression - not technical, trick by trick excellence. Kitejam gives our avid free-stylers a chance to get together, strut their stuff to each other and in front of a huge crowd (and they would be the the last to disagree that showing off is a big part of their kiting

)
There is no guarantee that the crowned king will be the best kiter but thats not the point - its a fun day out for ALL KITERS and their families. The "competition" is simply the Vibe.
I reckon if it had been a legitimate PKRA rules type "comp" then an indication of probable frontal gusty wind would have been enough.

BUT for a fun family day out you need a fine sunny beachy type day - perhaps that had some part to play in the decision to gamble on the postponement

. I wouldnt know & Im not claiming to

. But I am giving credit here to those who do
and really dont need to be told what they should do by those who do nothing. Sure it was a brave call to risk a pair in the hope of a royal flush - for those with the balls to make that sort of call lets hope it pays off.
Another impromptu quote - "There is more to a good feed than the quality of the steak"
Lets all hope for a full on four-course treat with all the trimmings next weekend.
ENJOY - bitching requires a frown - enjoyment gives smiles away for free.
Its better to keep smiling
