Rapture Kite: Looks Low aspect but is considered high aspect. No bridals and fly's fixed four lines only. SAFE depower and Reverse Jumpstart work perfectly due to the construction and shape of the kite.
Turns like Med aspect. Speed like a high aspect. Jumps like High aspect.
Basically, this is one bad ass kite!!!
This is a very aggressive kite and takes some getting accustom too. This is unlike anything on the market. The Rapture is not just another attempt at a Hi-Pro like other companies. This is truly the future of Kiting. The Rapture will be available in 1 month for shipping and additional info and pics will be available soon.
The only way you could get away without the bridals is to have a leading edge that is so rigid it could hold the canopies shape as the rider opposes the pull of the kite...
who knows... may be hurrah is talking about the bar ? but when someone creates a leading edge so rigid that you need only the line attachments then and only then you can call it bridal less... I wouldnt call the whole of hurrah's post rubbish everything else he mensioned could be true...
The first Rapture didnt have bridals. But the 06 model does for sure. Very similar bow kite style. Still worth looking at. They claimed 100% depower before all the bow style kites came out and they were trying to do this with the "C" shaped kites.
I checked the images. The kites look huge and the wind looks light. Maybe 8-10 knots tops. The board he rode was a cork.
Don't be fooled by the smoke and mirrors. 100% depower....wow, sounds all warm and fuzzy, safe even. That'll sell lots of kites.
Kitesurfing is a whole different animal at 25 knots plus. That's what I like but only in waves. So when guys say they want 100% depower in the waves...... Do they want the kite to fall out of the sky as they trim the curl?
correct me if im wrong but 5th line is then pretty much 100% depower also...
don't get sucked in by hype u read around the internet see it for urself and fly it for urself then decide what features it's got.
5th line is completely different SM, unless you are talking about rrd's pulley based 5th. heres a radical idea - why not get some water time with the different kites and systems before you go spouting off about how good or bad they are.
