Hi All

My job has just taken a nice twist, and I will be spending 50% of my time in beautiful Perth (has anyone noticed how stinking hot the women are in Perth??).

So, need some advice:

I've been kiting for a few years now, and have a 9m and 12m switchie, riding a Underground 142.

Pretty safety conscious, as my local, and where I learnt is Dolls Pt in Sydney. Have always had good mentoring from the KitePower team.

I will be staying in one of the City hotels. What is the best place to kite, and what is the easiest way to get there without a car??

Cheers
Mike

No idea where the best place is, and how to do it without a car, but I'm kiting Scarbs this arvo and leaving the city around 5pm, I can give you a lift and drop you back. What time do you finish?

Closest to you is Pelican Point on the river (near UWA). Its flat water but its gusty and never as good as the ocean (IMO). You could probably get the train to Fremantle and hoof it to Leighton Beach. Its about 800m from the North Fremantle train station.

No worries. Kite This is right on all counts. PP is close but it's in the river.
Scarbs is good (IMO) but not so easy to get to on public transport.
Leighton would be a good option I think, it'd be the easiest spot to get to from the train. Just drop me a PM when you're around though, if I've got my car in town I can pick you up and show you some of the other spots.

No worries. I think I may just have to buy a car hey. Will just get something cheap that will get me there and back.

Thanks guys. Will let you know when Im over.

Do I need my 12 and 9? Or does it generally blow hard enough for the 9 only?? I was in Perth a heap in DEC, and boy did it howl! Nice.
