Hello I have done everything right so far ..well nearly ..I took a lesson first .and then bought a kite to get kite control before trying to get on a board and have read as much stuff as i can as to what to do on the water and how to participate safely.
What i havnt been able to find is where in perth are no kite zones and where are good beginners areas.
ALL i want to do before christmas is be proficiant with the kite then get out there and have another lesson to move forward so when i do get out with the others i wont be spoiling their fun .
all positive hints and advise will be read..

There are plenty of places, each has pluses and minuses. The best places will be crowded or the beach will be filled with swimmers. Lots of people like Lucky Bay to get the basics and then they get tired of the gusty conditions (what better way to learn to deal with them?). There is about 2k of beach to work with, great for that loooong walk back to your car, shallow water which is good and really really bad if you break your leg there. You need to scout out areas that you are comfortable with and see what the locals are doing. Pelican Point can be a total zoo at times. Pinarro I hear is pretty wide open, Leighton and Safety Bay are good, man they're all good!! I was happy building my basics on the river in the shallows, fighting the gusts and lulls, bouncing through jelly fish... you just have to get wet mate.

thanks for the positive comments , i have already downloaded a membership form , filled it in (YESTERDAY)and marked the AGM at the Cott on my whiteboard..
I am one of the luckyones new to the sport I found this site as an avid beach goer from the suburbs who checks weather before driving down there.
