I am off to Denmark (SW WA, not o/s!) at Easter for family stuff, hitching a lift with rellies so need to find out if it's worth trying to negotiate fitting the kite gear in their car. Does anyone kite down there, and where? I am a newbie waiting for things (anything!) to click, so not really looking for scary or wavey.
I was thinking on the inlet maybe good but any comments?
I think some time out from hanging with the parents, spent on the water, would be very welcome!

In a word, (for a new kiter) ... NOPE
I've kited there a few times over the past few years, and have enjoyed it ..... but :
The inlet is shallow, has too many things to hit, and would be gusty
Main beach is your best bet, but you need to walk east 500m to get better wind .. and that's where the waves get bigger
All the other beaches have a lot of rocks guarding them, so beware.
Suggest you rent a surf board instead. Or better still, go for a walk and kiss the trees

Thanks for the advise, usually do go tree hugging when down that way, and will stick with that!

I'm from down that way, I've had great sessions at ocean beach (the main beach) but it's definatly not for begginers lots of rips, large swell. Have never bothered with the inlet, WAY too gusty. Parrys beach, which is abit of a drive further east would be your best bet, shallow shelving beach breaks in a wrap around bay. needs a South East wind (which is the prevailing summer wind down here).

By easter there may be more south westers coming through though. I dont know whats around denmark for a sw, but there are a couple of nice flat areas (albeit quite gusty) in Albany.

PM me if you wanna know more.

I havent been down that way since Ive taken up kiting but from my memories of surfing trips years ago isnt Parrys beach West of Denmark?
Its a nice place but I think with the swell and the big headlands possibly doing weird things to the wind that it might not be the place for a newby.
