Where are you headed after Sydney ?

There are great spots all the way up the coast. Forster, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour.

Should be plenty of wind that time of year. Plus the locals are very friendly I hear.

Hi K,
If you are here to spend some time in Sydney city, then don't be tempted to go to the Northern Beaches for NE wind, except if you go all the way to Palm Beach (some 50 minutes drive when no traffic). Palm Beach is the Nortern Beaches northern most beach and works well on a North Easter.

Southerlies are good for SE and S at Longreef, but MAKE SURE you do not go through the flags there as countless seem to do to the ire of everyone.

Having said that, even Palm Beach does not get the wind that any beach south of the city gets. For North Easters, From the airport good flat water places include brighton, dolls point for flat water, and Wanda, and any exposed beach south of this.

Southerlies at Boat Harbour (sea side at Botany Bay) is probably the best spot around as it offers flat water at the bay and waves as you kite further towards Cronulla. Long rides with no flags here - so its a great spot. There is a charge to get into the parking $16-18. Wanda is also good for a Southerly.

Again, the only rule that must be followed is to avoid the swimming flags at any beach.
