I went for a kite about 10:45pm-1145pm last week, at Point Henry. We used glow sticks in the canapy so that we where visible. Question: what are we supposed too use for legal lighting. ?
kiting at night is for the brave and the legalities of lighting are the least you should be worried about. Go on to the DPI web site and see what they say about lighting for sailing vessels
You'll need a red light on your left arm, a green light on your right arm and a white light visible from behind. When riding blind you'll need to swap those over. Your kite light should also be a tri-colour which will need a gyroscope to make sure it stays pointed the right way.
You can't show a tricolour at the same time as your red and green on your arms otherwise you will look like a vessel aground from the port aspect and a power driven vessel not making way from behind. I suggest just a tricolour strapped to the top of your head.
