Hi,

Yesterday i taked to a guy from a surf shop that told me there was more wind in Perth than up north (Shark Bay/Exmouth) All ppl tell me all diff kind of stories. Broome would be great (i can image) but thats a bit too far by car .

The only thing i know is when i saw Exmouth from the airplane there were nice waves and flat water behind em with white caps....lots of white caps so it should be fine! While there was no wind @ all when i landed in Perth, but looks like there is a nice breeze @ the end of the week. Maybe take a break @ cerventes on my way up north!

Cheers, Rens

hey rens,

Go up north. You'll hopefully get a some decent easterlys now otherwise wait until late august and get some of the early seabreezes. Or get a surfboard and learn how to surf!

How long are you here for?

there are lots of spots that you can kite up north on easterly winds. if you dont care about anything other than kiting there karratha and port hedland have spots that are awesome on easterly winds and there are hardly any people that kite there. and if you are really keen with a few people you can get a charter boat to take you out to the islands in the dampier archipelago, there are endless possibilities out there dead flat water or waves.
Not many people venture further than exmouth so not many people really know the potential of kiting up there. Its a great winter spot. basically any time there is a high pressure in the bight you get easterly winds up there the stronger the high pressure the stronger the easterly wind. if you time it right you can get a week of wind then a few days break then wind again this is the normal winter pattern up north, the water temp is not to bad either leave your steamer at home.

Everything starts in September. 3 months of surf and then the wind kicks in for the next 9 months. Relax and discover your surfboard cos its gonna blow its tits off for 9 months. Plan your trips around that...Life is good and Yardies been 6 foot solid with no wind for the the last coupla weeks. YAY
