Thinking of heading up to Noosa for a week late June. Not sure if there is any point as the Sunshine Coast graphs look no better than Melbourne's. Is it likely to pick?

Cheers

No wind... plus the sunshine coast sucks (sharks, crocodiles, polluted water ect...) Go to the Gold Coast instead.

the entire east coast of australia has beaches lined with gold and naked bikini girls. Beer is free and all the locals will unwind your lines and pump up your kites for you.

Its also good for easterlies.

I have been up there quite a bit at different times, obviously summer is the best for seabreezes, and the problem is the fronts are quite offshore, however I have scored quite well with wind in June, I had super winds, and then nothing.

Best spot however in winter is Caloundra south of the headland at the river mouth, for southerlies and the northern beaches, and you can try Marcoola beach for big swell and plenty of space, however can be really savage ocean on winter North winds.

Noosa is okay but you can head over to Rainbow beach north of noosa, swell again. Often Noosa river mouth will have no sand in winter.

Its actually the winter southerly winds that cause the carnage. Northerly always make it nice here. There is no wind this time of year though.
