I have recently started unhooked riding. Whenever i lose the kite with my leash attached to the 5th line, it is a pain in the arse to relaunch. Is there anywhere else you can attach the leash, or is there some sort of stopper system to stop so much line pulling through the bar all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul1,

On your red line you should have a little plastic ball at the end where your bar stops sliding up, if you move that ball closer to the bar then it won't travel 1/2 way up the lines, just make sure you measure it so when pulled you still have a decent amount of de-power, the last thing you want is to have the kite still powered up when you need to bail!

I bought a used 07 Rebel and the previous owner must have removed the ball. Cheers for the advice.

Hi Bo,

I have just made a ball. Do you know very roughly, how close to the chicken loop you can put the ball on the red line, without remaining too powered when bailing. Thanks again.

Hi Paul,

It's a case of measuring how far you want the bar to slide up and the size of your kite, obviously the bar is going to need to slide up further on a 14 for the same amount of depower for a 10 etc...
Next time you're out just have a play with it - light winds of course! Just either pull your QR and see where the bar is at a point of comfort for you, or just pull in the 5th till you feel it's depowered enough for you to be happy with and set the stopper ball there- just be weary that it may fall outta the sky and you'll need to be prepared for that!

Later.

Alternatively just clip your suicide onto the red 5th line above the chicken loop.
