I thought that was the general rule with Flea bay .
I've always wondered how someone who has been selling for 5 minutes there gets hundreds of green satisfied customers comments 'Gret fleabayer", "product arrived on time personally delivered by the queen with a bonus slab of beer " comments ?

1. Say you will pick it up.
2. Say you will pay COD.
3. If he doesnt reply...
4. YOU WIN!!!
5. Stop being scabby and get down to your local kiteshop and buy off the real guys, not the e-thugs.

Picture of said e-thugs.

PS. Why would anyone buy a North kite, theyre sh!t.

You're either brave or stupid buying amazing bargain brand new kites from an ebay seller in China with zero feedback.
I'd say stupid.
I hope you used Paypal, you at least have a chance of getting your money back.

i agree with jacko here coz there are some pretty amazing deals around here in aus if you just look, even here on seabreeze there are kites that are still new that maybe one year old or even six months which are nearly half price. and a mate of mine just got a brand new 08 kite from a shop that still in its box for under half price. And you dont have the risks like ebay.

yeah ebay is really hit and miss on deals. If it sounds good, its usually crap.

I bought a set of new SS lines new still in bag for $60($200 from shop),
so you can get the odd bargain but as far kites go.....Id like to see it before I sent my hard earned coin to some random dude you dont know.
You have no warrenty, customer service etc if the kite falls apart.
Support the aussie shops and they will MORE than look after you.Well worth it.

I live rural so dont have the joy of a local shop so all my gear is bought off the net FROM the aussie shops. They have been awsome, even though have never spoken face to face, only e-mail, they really look after their customers.
Maybe could have saved money on e-bay,but the customer service and easy replacement of any faulty bits is well worth it.

If my $900 stimulus package(kite package) ever turns up I will be supporting the aussie stores even more.

After saying all of that,I have bought a kite off the net from someone private. It was off this site, seabreeze. The guy showed me plenty of pics, spoke to me on the phone many times and even offered cash on delivery incase I was unhappy.
When someone does that much and is confident you will be happy or else it cost them coin on the return post, you feel pretty happy its the real deal.
$500 for an as close to new kite as you could get.
Fruck e-bay,check seabreeze for sale first.

Why do so many people keep accusing aussie retailers of inflating prices .Do the maths on just about anything now days including kites .Don't you think there is competition here? .Retailers have to compete against each other ,the internet, overseas prices and second hand kites .The only thing that 'aussie prices ' are inflated against are the sort of crapola that you are talking about.
Obviously you don't like paying for anything new beacause it is NEW and the retailer needs to make a bit to pay for things like rent wages advertising buying from a wholesaler tax man hungry kids and so on .So for you may I suggest the buy and sell section here .There are plenty of perfectly good used kites .STAY AWAY FROM FLEA BAY .

eBay has become the domain of counterfeiters primarily because the people at eBay simply won't police the site.

I have had three bad experiences in the past year with sellers (none of it kite-related) that are hocking counterfeit goods. Even after multiple complaints to eBay and PayPal the same sellers are still selling the same counterfeit goods today.

eBay don't give a stuff because every sale means $s and it cost resources to pursue con artists. Unless someone in the Federal Police takes an interest in this (and they haven't) and there are arrests made, it will continue to get worse.

I've essentially stopped buying off eBay for this reason. Just not worth the hassle.

At least 50% of the brand name goods being sold are eBay today are fakes. Some of them are good fakes but nevertheless they are fakes being sold as legitimate brands and they are illegal. But eBay aren't interested, PayPal aren't interested, Fair Trading aren't interested, the ACCC aren't interested and the police aren't interested. Shocking really.

I personally have bought many items of eBay and never had any issues that have not been resolved through the dispute section.. I also did see that north kite from china..it was the first item he ever sold and he had no feedback..then i saw someone had bid on it and thought "what a monkey" .. sorry you lost your cash monkey boy but stupidity will always get you in trouble..

yep I have to agree with all of you, stupid me, still you live and learn eh ? its the first screw-up with ebay I've had.

I don't accuse the shops of inflating the prices its the import taxes etc, and yes I've heard of second hand, been there and done that.

this thread was just to warn people and it was not my intention to insult anyone or belittle the kite retailers. please don't be rude to me as I love kiting and the people that do it are generally a great bunch.

sorry if I offended anyone.

Brave move, posting that. Sorry you copped a (not too unexpected) flaming. You have however hopefully discouraged others as naive as you once were from repeating your mistakes.
Those deals look tempting, but they're clearly a pack of lies.
Keep the message going guys, Stories like this will hopefully reduce the chances of others being suckered.

I can only decide whether I`m interested or not by reading what`s to be said.
And I keep reading in hope that it might get interesting. But it hasn`t.
I still keep reading in times of boardom to amuse myself at some of the senseless stuff some people have to offer. But wait, isn`t that just what I`m doing right now? There must be a word for this kind of behavior.

The affliction is "Noninterestumseabreezeaddictum"

Symptoms range from posting meaningless subjects or replies to almost anything on a seabreeze forum through to being highly irritated by seemingly simple statements of irrelevant topic.

This is commonly brought on by lack of wind, injury, ouchmohol indulgence or late night overuse of net surfing.

You can purchase a cure from me on EBAY, (no refunds)

Just go to
http://cgi.eebay.com.au/SNAKE-OIL-DERIVITIVE-CURE-FOR-Noninterestumseabreezeaddictum 0QQitemZ270390077134QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Sucked-in-big-time?hash=item270390077134&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%..

By an unusual Freudian spelling slip you may have not only created a new word but also answered your own question;

boardom : where lack of use of a board leads to Noninterestumseabreezeaddictum.

Did you really try the link in my last post?

Nooooooooooo............ I think I have caught the affliction myself

I can`t wait for the "cure" I purchased from you on ebay. It is genuine right?
Oh sheeet! If only I showed more interest in this thread I wouldn`t have been suckered.
Boardom: Make weary by being dull due to lack of board sports.
Sorry sbray you have now coaught my board virus. This virus can only travel through still air and dies off immediately strong winds hit it.
Never mind, it looks like the winter storms are on their way. Yes, now I`m interested!
