Check this link out. We hit up Dreamworld last Friday morning for a session. If you're on the Goldcoast you have to give it a go.

maaaann.... You how hard that **** it? Those boards don't have fins neither edges like a snowboard to get to stabalized... It's like riding a soap cup:) but it's fun, rode one outside Munich at Alpamare (jodquellen.com/jod-ag-in-bad-toelz/alpamare/) cool thing though....

The next step from this is the natural alternative. Walking through Munich and the last thing I expected to see in a landlocked city was surfers (not quite enough space to launch a kite though).

These guys are very dedicated and surf all season. Lines of them on either side of the bank - they hop on the wave and then cruise around. When finished they bail and swim to the side of the river and then wait their turn again.

Yeah in july when it first opened i went up to teach the staff how to ride - i had an idea to use a wake tow rope on the flow rider, one person would hold the one side and the rider would hold the other side. We did it and it worked. Im just thinking of the potential, who knows what we will see in 50 years? Aww wait probably nothing as fossil energy becomes scarce and such frivolous contraptions as flowriders become impossible. At least there will always be wind!

Yeah but in the not to distant future global warming will raise the sea levels laying waste to our favourite kiting spots, and the sun will give you third degree burns in 10 minutes.

Enjoy the fun while it lasts!

ahhhh the optimism . I guess it reinforces the point to really apprectiate what you got. Every second I am kiting I try and remind myself of that and I hope everyone does the same. We are lucky s.o.b's.

I didnt realise there were so many flow riders there, were there any line ups? How much did it cost?
