I took delivery of a new North Nugget today... it's supplied with 2x North TS-M fins (115mm high) and 2x North Quad fins (95mm high). No user manual. Does anyone know which pair should be at the front of the board? I'm guessing the larger set. Also there seems to be a slight but detectable variation in the angle of the indivdual fins, with no obvious reasoning for it. Is this normal?

Cheers

Actually you cannot mess it up, as the depths of the front and back fins´ bases are different.
Great board.

Thanks guys... I kinda figured it out (the smaller Quad fins actually have 'back fin' printed on them) but I still have a more pressing question.
When the supplied fins are fitted and viewed with the board belly up, and looking down the stringer from the tail end they are all at different angles . Using a set square the rear left Quad fin is dead square but the rear right fin angles out about 10 degress. This can't be right can it? Surely they should be the same -both square or both angled by the same amount. Additionaly the front TS-M fins, although both angling out, are not equally inclined. The right front fin (again when viewed board belly up down the stringer from the tail) angles out approximately 3-5 degrees more than the left front fin.
I would be suprised if this is a munufacturing problem as the North gear, at least the kites, are high quality and seem to have high quality control. But this lack of symetry seems odd at best and wrong at worst. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

Cheers

Don't be surprised if it is a manufacturing problem. North has these with their surfboards. They had it last year when the construction was too weak. I also measured the position of the fin boxes on my Nugget because they did not look right. However they are OK, the eye gets distorted by the design. The leash plug is inserted off angle. No problem but shows the poor craftsmanship (China made). My Naish Global is way better finished.

I knew that the north fin boxes didn't properly fit future fins but the 2 boxes deeper than the other 2 on the same board???? weird. Why not just put in actual future fin boxes?? or FCS for that matter, just North being North I spose.... On a whole great gear but with a few things that don't make complete sense thrown in.

Just checked my nugget also and all the fins seem to be shooting off in different angles within a couple degrees. But I wouldn't worry too much about it, I have been riding mine for the last 8 months or so and hadn't noticed...... That might say something about the rider also.
