And if it takes after the iPod then :-
Scratch easily
You will not be able to remove the battery
Everything will be in proprietary Apple format
If it locks up you are in big trouble
You will have to update it regularly just to use iTunes
It's amazing how dud a product can be and still sell millions if you have the right marketing.

how do you turn it off then?
mine always has a mental break down until the battery runs out.
o yer, time to have a bitch about apple
the newest itunes is ****ty compared to the old one. it came with the ipod update... ipod started to have problems after this. the new ipod program is said to be a "bug fix" no mention about some ****ty new games feature (you would have to be pretty tapped to try play a game with that click wheel anyway) that you have to pay money for yet down load because you need the bug fix.

I just don't like proprietary systems that Microsoft and Apple have introduced to encode music. If you own it, then you should be able to move it from device to device, CD to PC/Mac etc...
Both system track and manage the "license" you have on the tunes.
You would be naive to think that both companies are not interested in how you treat these files.
Get a device that plays Fraunhofer MP3's. Its an open source format and you can see the info contained in the files and edit it. There are plenty out there, and even phones. It's not a new concept to have an mp3 playing phone. Sony Ericsson have had them for years. Sony mega bass included.

This is the keynote from Macworld 2007 San Francisco yesterday. You need to paste it into Quicktime's Open URL section under file. The phone is well ahead of its time. Not here till 2008 and it will probably be locked to one carrier.

Oh and look at this comparison of Palm, Rimm (Blackberry) and Apple from yesterday. The keynote started at 9am.

ah yes yet another fashion accessory for the "must have it" crew...

should we start the whole "disruptive technology" thing again for this phone too?

Not just fashion, if you watch the keynote you will find that there are hints to the future of human computer interaction. Esp the multi touch display.
