We're looking into splitting up the categories and heres your chance to have you say:

Would you prefer:

a) the forum categories remain as they are?
--------> general/gear/lost/...

b) east/west categories?
--------> general/east/west/gear/lost/...

c) wa/qld/nsw/vic/sa categories?
--------> general/wa/qld/nsw/vic/sa/gear/lost/...

d) ?

Here's your chance to have your say!

Cheers .. Laurie

Nuttin wrong with this wheel I reckon

It is good to get east/west coast views on posts, although some numb nuts do barge in with heavy handed "advice" knowing stuff all about the location and conditions in question.

Generally though the width of views is cool.

Splitting by state or east west will divide too much I think. I like the way it is.

Option a.) FTW!

Yeah nothing wrong with the way it is now.

Any chance of having the forum sections listed in the menu listing the same as say the map's menu? I.e. when you hover over it, you can select General/Poleys/Kites etc....

That way when you're lookin at a picca or somethign you can go straight back to the forum you were browsing.

Maybe splitting lost and found to states, just so you don't get excited when someone lists that they found a board which you may bave lost only to be in another state!

Cheers Laurie.

The way it is great.
If you split it into states there will be less people to play with.

I vote for the way it is

Hey Lozza,

I reckon it would be a great idea to have a category of posts about gear and riding (more serious information posts) and keep the general banter seperate.

Other than that, I reckon leave it as is.

maybe just the lost/found section would work well divided by states

too much "us/them" if it was east west. keep it as it is. the posters state is listed under the avatar and thats all we need.

I like the state by state lost and found idea

And maybe updating the navigation system for the forums into a drop down menu.

keep up the good work

I think it's great as it is.

However, I'd recommend adding the state name next to the Author in the topic high-level view

To go against the tide it pretty useless, but...I'd like to see a split.

One for more serious / useful / on-topic stuff (that I like to read)...

And one for members that like to dominate the forums, be negative, think they're funny and have nothing useful to say.

Thats not against the tide, its option d)

Good idea though, would be hard to maintain though, the moderator would flat out keep the threads on topic / serious. But it should be like that now anyway, there is a general discussion area and in here is the serious kiting talk.

So kites are cool

Errr Laurie,
The forum is already split.
The kitesurfing section is already split up into four little forums covering WA, NSW, SA and QLD.....plus the General kitesurfing forum.
Obviously, not many members use these private State forums.
Same goes for the little thumb-boxes.
No one has thumb-voted anywhere in this thread thus far.
