Just wondering if anyone's had any experience with Pansh kites? I'm just looking for a cheap trainer kite to play around with and let my mates have a run on and came across the Pansh website. I was looking at the 2m Legend for $99US with free express delivery anywhere in the world... seems like a pretty good deal! Anyone know anything about these things??

Cheers, Bert.

yea i have a pansh ace 5.5m... the delivery is really fast and the kite looks pretty good although I think mine needs a bit of a tune-up as it does stall a lot I rekon if you were going to get one of these dont get anything bigger than a 3m otherwise they can be a bit of a handfull...

"Come complete with flying lines and handles."

I think you're better off with something that has a bar and it sounds like this doesn't.

No worries guys... thanks for the replies. Any idea how hard it would be to fashion up bar to replace the handles? If it's only a two liner, surely there couldn't be anything too technical to it?? Might even have an old bar lying around here that'd do the job....

Hey Bert77,

If the Pansh comes with flying lines and handles then it must be a 4 line, not a 2 line. Handles are pointless without brake lines.

If it does come with 4 lines, you can tie the two rear lines together and to a piece of bungee in the form of a big "Y". Then attach a wrist leash to the back lines via the bungee. This will give you a wicked safety kite killer where when you drop the bar (Broomstick) the kite will collapse and plummet powerlessly trailing edge first into an inert heap on the ground. Obviously, the two front lines are attached either end of the broomstick.

In fact if you wanted to do it properly remove one of the back lines and add a "Y" piece at the top of the line and attach the two ends to the two rear line bridles, this will help reduce stalling and help the kite fly a bit faster and further upwind in neutral due to less wind resistance against the 4th line.

Do not use a wrist leash on the front lines of a foil kite unless you want the kite to pinwheel until the lines are so twisted they resemble rope.

Good winds,

Hi Bert,

I got the 3m Blaze after I had my 3m eolo radsail theived out of my car.
Get a radsail if you have an option I'd say, had to mod the bridles out of the bag on the Pansh, and it's still not flying the way I'd like it too...
Trial and error hey!

hey,
NEW kites are good they small and fast already on a bar and work straight away, i seen people crash them into dried seaweed on the beach and fly in strong winds and the kite never seemed to fail, i flew it a couple of times mucking around and seen people learning on it. $160 ready to fly.
i guess contact the pornstar N8 might be a retailer on the eats coast for you
