Hey Q,

Totally depends upon which state and what beach you ride at or are planning on riding at. There are plenty of schools ask around at the beach from kiters at the local spot, they generally know who is good and who isn't. There are a number of shonky operators around the country, be forwarned, they are usually known by the locals and you'll be warned away if necesary.

Good luck and welcome to the sport.

In Sydney, can highly recommend KiteSessions -- they have all the right gear and do everything right and will get you up and riding quickly. Very experienced, nice folks and they have a hot, feisty French chick who works with them... ;-) 0410 937 222 or [email protected] (PS -- I have no business association with these guys) Cheers, Robbo

Clearly Darren Marshall (Kitehard) - he's an IKO instructor and a pretty good bloke too...

I had lessons with Ian Young a couple of years ago and can thoroughly recommend him. Plus he teaches you out in the middle of the swan river so you can actually concentrate on learning and not have to worry about being in the road of other people.
