If you local or travelling to Perth be sure to check out Downwinder Transport.
https://www.facebook.com/downwindertransport
or call Tod on 0400206854

Did a sweet little Leighton to Sorrento down-winder this afternoon, was a bit light 12-15knots but was sweet cruising down the coast on the 19m.
Great option for anybody looking to do a a metro downwinder or those doing some LOC training.
Tod would be up for starting even further South if your crew is keen
Tod meets you at Sorrento, and take you as far south as you wish, around $10-20 for a trip depending on number of crew and how far south. Great service and highly recommended. Enjoy!!

Agreed! Todd is great value and you meet some interesting crew doing the ski down winders as well!
Recommended!

Doing a downwinder in Perth and not bothering to ride Scarbs,

would be like travelling to Hawaii and not visiting the North Shore.

At what stage do you pump up? Does he lend you a pump when you arrive somewhere down south so you can inflate the kite before he leaves?

Pump up once you arrive at your chosen location, and he's got a pump you can use.
The bloke even gives you a hand getting your gear to the beach

Just a thing to be aware of, Todd picks up at Sorrento SLSC. If you kite back to there as I do, it's not really a kiting beach, so you need to be able to self land. There won't be anyone to help you land and there isn't a tether point. It's also a flagged beach, so if you arrive there when it is under supervision you need to land on the south side of the groyne before the flagged beach.

It's a great run from Trigg to Sorrento that is very quiet after all the crowds from Floreat to Trigg though.

Cheers

is it possible to do pick up at 3rd groyne just south of sorrento slsc?, this is ok for finishing, landing, kiting
can park in side street if all the parking is taken
otherwise finish at the 2nd to 3rd groyne before the swimmers beach and walk down to car at sorrento slsc

Did Port Beach to Sorrento today on the 4 o'clock run from Sorrento SLSC. Was room for more crew.
Highly recommended value service that Perth kiters should get on board. Do yourself a favour!

Yep your local bus company. On the GC it's Surfside buses.
