Bit of a first go. Wind got a bit light trying out my new camera on a chest mount. It may not be the best view hiding some of the action.

Definitely not the worst view either, I like that for most of the time you can see what both you and the kite are doing, maybe just a little higher next time so not so much view of your safety release.

Enjoyed it, for the different angle.

I like it too for the same reason above. Only just learning to ride waves and its great to see the movement in the kite and how you are positioning yourself. Nice job...This is very helpful.

is it just me or does the strap position on that board make it look like its really in/un efficient in the water?

You have amazingly long and rubbery arms!

yeah Nerk - I'm just wobbly arms with a pair of oversized booties

OK - Could have been the light wind making me bog down - or perhaps its the camera angle

Beefarm - 7m on 20m lines but was moving a bit sluggish without wind

BP - I'm surprised at how the chicken loop wasn't in every shot. I had the camera set high on my chest as it was, so unless there's some kind of neck mount ... hey there's an idea

sweet that convinces me to get a chest mount. But your still missing alot of the wave face until your directly riding at it. Is it possible to wear the chest strap ob the side by your harness and have hip cam side veiw?

I agree Plummet more wave face would be nice

Twisting the chest mount a little may work but a sideways position isn't possible as it is restricted by the vertical straps hitting the shoulders.

Next time I'm going to try adding a little angle with a three way pivot arm (2 knuckles)

I also have gopro and ride waves and i'm trying to find a view that shows a good representation of the wave. On the top of the head it looks down and makes the wave look small. also you miss some of the action behind you. eg the peeling wave.

so I think hip cam might work on the wave face side. I'm also thinking about mounting the camera on the bar. That will get most of the rider and look back at the breaking wave.

Hey Snorton

The music was AWFUL!

I really prefer you previous vid - Perth kite surfing 17/09/2011 - very trippy.
