I used to live down there and sometimes go back to visit. San Remo was good but the death of a local while kiting put a bit of a dampener on it and i have never seen a kiter there since. However, I only get down there for a fortnight every 12 months or so during christmas. Ventnor is not a bad spot with the occasional kiter out there. The cliffs on the west side of the island apparently make it all a bit dodgy for kiters with the strange updraft, but I have seen people kite there. Usually the SW wind direction. Awesome swells and waves on the west side

se at san remo and nw to sw at ventnor, but its on shore. I'd imagine tricky to launch in some spots. I've never seen anyone out on the southern surf beaches
