Can you please indicate how your used gear as gone on this site.
I will start I ahve posted 10 kites and sold none on this site. So my success rate is 0%.
Please post your experience as a percentage..so we can see if people actually buy kites off here...also put notes on your thoughts on buying used gear off a site like this ...I think it will be interesting.

I think if you look at that post from a while ago about the price of second hand kites and kites not holding their value you may get some insight into why kites don't sell.

Anything will sell at the right price in an open market and something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I have bought a kite from this site before and have sold some other gear so it does work.

It is hard taking a big hit on selling your gear to upgrade but that just comes down to the cost of the sport. You have to ask yourself if you really need to upgrade or should you use your gear for one more season.

Posted 4 sold 3 so 75% but I decided to hold on to the 4th anyway after it didn't sell straight away - so didn't try to hard!

only good experiences

free ferty is right its all about price.
every one pretty much on here knows whats a good price and what is good gear is so if your not selling its prob because your selling 2000 gear covered in repairs for the same price as a bow

100% success rate. Price is the key.

Last 3 kite quiver I sold went in less than 2 hours.

Any traditional "C" kite over a season old you would be lucky to get $300.

Had 3 kites and 1 board up for sale, sold the board and got tired of updating my posts to sell the kites... Sold them first go on ebay for 1/3 more!!
I rate selling gear on ebay this time of the year, just going into season, just make sure you can post your item with AU post and the buyer will cover the postage fee.

Cheers!

bruce obviously you are asking too much for your gear.
i am 3 from 3 because i am, and most other people are realistic about what someone will pay for it. sure i think my stuff was worth more but buyers are not going to pay you how much you think it's worth they will pay how much they think it's worth. some vendors on this forum are yet to grasp this concept.

be realistic about the price of your gear when wishing to move it on, search for products similar and do a comparison ?. Every time I've placed something on here for sale it sells within a very short time because I'm realistic about what their worth

yep, price is key. ive found seabreeze great for selling off old stuff, although for my lei's i tend to hold on to them as the only ones I would sell are bagged out and fly like sh1t so arent really markertable.

as for buying stuff on seabreeze, ive got some kick arse bargains here on kites and boards

havn't had much luck selling, bought 1 board and 3 kites. Was stoked with the board and 2 of the kites.
Only advise is to speak with buyer / seller and make sure you are getting what you pay for. There's no come back if you buy a piece of **** from someone who you'll probably never meet or hear from again. spose its that same old thing of buyer beware.
well, had my whinge, but all in all seabreeze has been a good experience, 99% of people are honest and i like to think that the wind will sort out the other 1%.

ive sold heaps... cant remember how many kites... but the only things ive had to put on ebay is one cheapy brand no-name kite... and my bindings...
Its funny to see all these guys re-posting every few days with the same old stuff... then in a month it goes down $50... next month another $50... then they give up and keep it lol...

rhys, is my sale pitch that common and obvious!

Here’s one more go just before I totally give up and keep the damn thing as a garden ornament

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20955

And I will throw in a couple of scotch fillets as steak knifes are so passé

Although I am thinking it’s a bit seasonal as well.. wait till summer comes around and fresh meat just out of kite school might be looking for your second hand gear.

i have enough trouble trying to keep up with the ammount of stuff listed every dayif you miss a couple of days ,you can be looking through 2 ,3 or 4 pages !......at one point there, it was 2 pages of for sale listings in the one day
so if you advertise one day...and the right person doesn't see it for a couple of days ..it can get lost in the traffic

bought 1 kite and sold 1 kite quite easily. The only was people are going to buy something from you is if you sell it as cheaply as you can afford, my success 100%.
