Yeha, i think they got the prescription wrong for a couple of people. Mine were fine though.

daily disposable contact lenses, they make them for toric (astigmatic corrections as well now ) approx a $1 a lens although you have buy boxes of 30 or 90 pretty easy ,wear it, then flick it (in the bin) when finished for the day evening whatever ....
the problem with curved Rx sunglass lenses is that you change the angle at which the light passes through the lens (which is what normally happens with a optical lens) but this effect is accentuated with the curve/wrap of the sunnies giving you a different power /correction /reading
any lens on what is known as an 8 base or greater will generally have to be special ground and compensated for that effect hence the price!!!
the other issue with high curve is thickness as the lenses get thicker as you increase curve and size ..meaning you have to use thinner material hence more price!!
most sunglasses don't have an interior bevel designed for thicker RX lenses so the lenses generally have to a special deeper sharper bevel to make sure they fit and stay in hence more price !!
hope this helps !!most people find the daily disposable less stress inducing as you only lose a $1 or $2 when you crash rather than the spec lens popping out from the force!!
Spectacle RX is different from the contact lens RX most optoms will give you a couple of free trial lenses to try out if you have a consultation with them for contacts ...... i am surprised none of them suggested it to you .....
