Pump suggestions

I'm 100% sure this must have been covered previously - have done a search..no results...

So...

My 07 Best pump is failing me Not fun having to scab a pump of someone else..

Is there seal kits available, or should I go for a newie?

If new is the go, any suggestions?

i saw some in Aldi recently believe it or not, dunno how good they would be though.

Sling shot Jenna J Double Pump, comes with Gauge. Never seen one fail and have never had to use lube on mine she doesnt seem to need it. At around $70 isnt the cheapest pump on the market but grab her with two hands and you can pump as hard and fast as you can all day long.

Bought one from ALDI on sunday. $7 dollars, so pretty cheap. It does the job at first but once more pressure starts buiding in the bladder the hose end starts coming out of the Vave (it's a bit narrower than a normal nozzle) or the nozzle blows off the hoze. Solved this problem with a bit of tarzan grip and one of the many nozzles I had lying around in the back of my Car. Now work's perfectly. You could buy 10 slingshot pumps for the cost of this pump

ALDI?? I'm assuming some sort of non-QLD second hand store??
Maybe I should just claim of of the pumps in the "Lost and Found" section...

Just about any camping or general store will have similar pumps for $20-$30 or so with multiple nozzles. Even K-Mart has them.
I think my current one is from a hardware store, it works perfectly.

Obviously these ones don't come with a gauge.

Yeah not sure what Aldi is either but asuming there talking about the cheap pumps for air mattresses or pool toys they look the same as a kite pump. They are a lot cheaper but you would have to get a new one every 3 months(if they even last that) the caps that the shaft runs through start to crack where they thread on as they cant really handle the presure and you end up standing on one half of the pump and the other half is in your hands. We can get them from our local hardware store or camping shops, but you definatly get what you pay fore.

I would hate to miss out on a good kite session because you get to the beach and your pump self destructs. and you cant find one to borrow because everyone is out on the water having a blast and there pumps are locked in there cars.

So the general opinion seems to be buy a new one - not to waste time on fixing the old one?

i got one from rays outdoors. Really soild pump and only set me back $20.

For that price just buy new

I havent ever seen a kit to rebuild them. Not saying it cant be done though. The two little flaps on the piston are your intake would be easy enougth to find some material to replace then, the actual lip seals on the piston would be easy to replace if you can find some one that sells them, the tricky bit would be replacing the seals on the out let valve as the asembly seems to be glued or pressed in to the plastic piston and if you cant get those seals out and replace them then there may be no point doing the others.

pull it apart and see whats wrong with it, if its some thing simple you may be able to fix it if not bin it.

Try foot pumps, they work great, no bending over anymore
