Stark Bay will work well on a westerly, and has a very good break, though its a fair way out, and half tide and above will make it easier navigating past the inner reefs.
Oh, and I can tell you, when you sail there by yourself, it can be very lonely if something goes wrong. Always have a leeward shore, and don't go out too far.
The West end of salmon bay has a long peeling R Hander, an inside wave that never gets really big, cross to cross on, very smooth chop free water and a nice big sandy beach to launch from and get blown into if it all goes wrong.Heaps of fun even by yourself. I have often looked at Starks and Rocky Bay in a South westerly and always stayed ashore as any weather or equipment failures would seen you blown out to sea with at the very least a long swim in less an expensive kite. Great if youve got boat support though and the windsurfers have been lining it up for years in the right conditions. Niall
