Rebel Battons?

Does any one know if you can fly a 07 rebel without the battons? Whats it like?

you can but makes the canopy more fluttery

As they break replace them with the 08 battons, they hold there shape better and don't break (for me)

i flew mine for a while without battens while i wated for new ones. It flies a the same just sits a bit more over your head when de-powered.
Get the new battens there cheaps and made of different material that is less likely to break.

or go to your local hardware or bunnings (perish the thought) and buy some 6mm spaghetti that they use for fixing screws etc in concrete, and it'll cost about 3/5th's of f#$% all and works just the same.

how are we gonna sell some more damn kites this year??...... well maybe we should just add some crap on and make it more complicated......any ideas.......i know lets just add batterns!!!...... but it doesnt even make enough difference to warrant the use of them.......... yes i know but ppl will think it does........ oh yes i see.......perfect.

make sure ya round of the ends of the 'wall plug spagetti' with a pencil sharpener and sandpaper before inserting in batten holders on kite to reduce the chance of the 'alternative' battens tearing the kite when flying.....not a realy good idea as using any sort of 'non genuine 'spare parts would make the north warranty null and void,even though you would expect the genuine cam battens to last at least a 12mth warranty....p.s make sure that the battens are never bent when folding and packing kite
