Anyone had to come back to kiting from a rib injury?

Had an unpleasant encounter with a car while cycling home from work 10 days ago...cut up my arm a bit and suffered my first ever rib injury. Bruised, not cracked....I think. Of course it has been green arrows galore since then...but based on the pain i feel every time i do anything that involves core muscles, like getting out of bed for example, having a powered up kite attached to my torso seems like something that will be prohibitively painful for many more days.

Guesses as to how many more days/weeks will pass before I can kite again?

Any suggestions on how to heal faster?

Get a seat harness and wait at least 4 weeks, realistically I waited 6 and was still sore. Don't re injure or it will take even longer 2nd time. No quick fix mate. Also depends how bad the injury is yours sounds ok

i broke 2 ribs last oct, waited 6 weeks to kite again, get a impact vest and don't do any new tricks which will risk aggravating your injury. only do exercises that don't hurt your ribs. try not to sneeze cough or laugh too hard!

I've fractured 6 ribs while kiting. To add to the choir, get a seat harness - it will hurt for a lot longer if you don't!

The nice (?) thing about the rib injuries is you will know very quickly what hurts, and you'll stop doing it.

Damaged two ribs kiting, bruised most likely. You can kite almost immediately with a seat harness depending on the severity but you will need to wait a good 6-8 weeks for the ribs to get better.
