Rip Curl make the best shaped impact/flotation vest for kiteboarding in our experience.
They are only willing to make them this year if we can guarantee an order of at least 200 units, they retailed last year for $169

I need expressions of interest from other shops/schools to make sure that Rip Curl continue production of this great vest, please email
sydney(at)kitepower.com.au or phone 02 95296894 and speak to me (steve), if you can commit to some.
They are a strong seller in out stores, I can discuss quantities we sold privately.

You are to be commended for your desire to save this multi-national company by soliciting your fellow countrymen.

Come on people save rip-curl, save yourself; save the vest; place your orders now...

A truly humanitarian effort.

Kudos

lol
Rip Curl or rip-off ?

A clothing business major that will only manufacture a product if it is guaranteed a sale.
hahaha
I reckon every business would love to lock-in that handy arrangement.
But in the real world it doesn't work that way.

But an expression of interest isn't a guarantee anyway.
It's just a pledge.
A promise that will probably be broken by most.
A promise to buy something sight unseen, price unknown ??
Any takers.

Well slaved, you just demonstrate your ignorance again. Virtually all clothing labels operate exactly that way, they make samples, they bring em around to the store, the store gives an order (maybe), and then they tally up the totals and make em.
Calling Rip Curl a rip-off says a lot about you mate, and nothing about that great Australian owned company that has always provided excellent products and service. Even the way they look after their staff is outstanding.

Once again, you are talking as if you are a complete idiot, are you?
True, a shop undertakes to honour its agreements, most businesses with integrous owners work that way.
The pledge is not broken by most, in fact it is the opposite.
The product exists, right now, I still have some and I own one and use it, the price is set, and you talk sh1te!

And of course you had to have a go because your hero the dead cat is speaking from the grave! LOL's

Sweet !! you're finally getting some anger management counceling,,

Kudos again...

You're still sounding a tad angry, and abusive though,,keep working on it Steve.

Remember, there is no justification for abuse; the number one "excuse" for abuse is:

You made me abuse you !!!

but

You're working on it, and that's a start, congrats.

Nice !

Steve do you know if they still make and if so will continue to make the non-kite specific floatation vest (used to have one for water-skiing wakeboarding.. and saw some floating around in windsurfing stores in the old days). on your web-site the one you sell is mentioned as being cropped so I presume that this is because its a kite/waist harness specific model

Well, excuse you.
And pardon me for thinking that this was a public kitesurfing forum,
used for the purpose of kitesurfing discussion.

I didn't realise it was Kitepowers personal vehicle for conducting private wholesaleing/retailing business activity,
over the internet.

Carry on.

Just got back to civilisation and packing to go again.

Peruse the forums for some excitment and what do I see?

Boring, boring, boring, what is this.

Steve going off at and getting gone off at yet again.

That's the kind of stuff I like to see.

Endless quotes from steve, un-translatable dribble from fo,
and Waveslave opening his mouth to change feet.

Where's User? steve needs some backup

All we need is Puppetonastring, Poor Reli, Ralinn, and azza to hijack the thread.

I think you're all getting a bit off track:

Steve is soliciting support for you own home-grown sucsess story,
Rip Curl.

How many vests do you all want to order?

Who'll start the promise at 15 vests?

Place your orders...

Why are all you roo dudes all so over emotional, all the f-en time ??

It's just such a waste !

Club some tourists if you must...

But it's about the numbers here, people.

Who'll promise 20?

G'day Danmick

I think they do make a wakeboarding vest?
Maybe contact them direct in Torquay, 03 52610000?
The one we sell and that I am seeking interest from shops about is the cropped kite specific model you can see on our website here.

http://www.kitepower.com.au/catalog/product_16888_Rip_Curl_Kite_Vest_cat_316.html

They do not fit dead cats.
Cats with suicidal tendencies would be better served by seeking help on another forum. Slaves should seek out brain regeneration or restoration techniques.

I did offer the reward to anyone, even YOU!!

Well, there actually was one rule, you had to post an alternative, not necessarily complimentary name, for the user, "waveslave".
Symbols like 8 asterisks in a row are not words, pity you don't understand simple things eh?
And that would be why you do not understand integrity?
Or why its a good idea to keep your nose out of things that do not concern you?

Ahh grasshpper, but you have a dead cat as a hero, one that now uses an insanerthanjane medium to speak from beyond suicided cat hell, and who still dances to my tune, as do you.

Fo's on a crusade.
Save Rip Curl.
Come on people, help out, give till it hurts.
Promise you'll buy a flak jacket.

?? Rip Curl, the third biggest surf clothing major in the world,
(the other two being Quiksilver & Billabong) can't risk a production run without a guaranteed sale ??
Yikes.

The next thing that Kitepower will spin to us is......
Quiksilver and Billabong are merging due to poor sales....
and their new business name will be Quikbong.

We would be VERY lucky if Rip Curl make kitesurfing gear!
They have a long, illustrious history of innovation in surfing products.

Things you take for granted.Wetsuits etc.

Don't judge them on their clothing lines.

As for the negative criticism from the usual bitter ones, havent you ANYTHING better to do?

Steve is promoting this product because he believes it is the best there is. Isnt that clear?

F uck me,f cking,Dooley O' F ukin Reilly!

At least check out the product, and if it is inferior to others, well then have at it ,my hearties!

User hit the nail on the head:

You'd be the lucky ones if Rip Curl looked your way.

They don't need your biz, they do not need much of anything, they got what they need.

People, Steve deserses an award, he's the only one who really really cares about you.

Place your orders; selling at least two hundered vests is the only way he can assure you will not be ignored by Rip Curl this production year.

He's doing this for you, Rip Curl doesn't care, but Steve does...

Place your order, in order for Steve to save this product !! for you people, for your own good, now throw daaddy a bone, won't ya?

You're cutting your own necks here, Steve is trying to save you...

Talk about integirty, this guy is integrous to a fault.

To a fault I tell ya...

Who'll promise 50?

Hey Fo, you're back!!!! Still banned from you're main sand box (Kiteforum.com)???

Good to see that you and your little sand box mate Stevey are up for another round of throwing sh1t at each other. Given Waveslave is supporting you we should see if we can find good ole Philipppp to help Stevey. Otherwise this is an unfair fight. Don't you think???
And if you get your ali-arses )*(, honneypudle, calamity(in)sane, fauxkitten, et al involved it will really get ugly. But bring it on and welcome back. This is about to become fun and I'm already enjoying it...

Personally I think Azza would look quiet smart in a Roxy version of the Impact vest.

The only ones I've seen were only big enough to fit a small brown bird.

However a certain Crocodile was recently seen regurgitating what appeared to be a Rip Curl impact vest.

Maybe this was RC's pre season product testing. Obviously they are impregnated with a substance that tastes bad to crocodiles.
so if you get eaten by a crocodile, thankfully they will spit you out.
More companies should be so thoughtful.

Lucky us.
We should feel privileged when we pay Rip Curl cash for goods. lol

Well, Rip Curl did get involved in the windsurfing business in the early days.
They made sails and harnesses that were dogsh1t.
Rip Curl lasted about two seasons and then they bailed from the windsport.

All i know is a rip curl vest will look a lot better then the ones that say "S.W.A.T. team" on them. I think they even sound cheaper.

I am surprised rip curl don't make more kite specific wetties cause one of there wetsuit designers "Sparrow" is a real keen kiter.
I guess they did the research and decided against kite specific wetties.
If i know kiters the wetties would probably end up all bright colours just like kites

Yea they make a kite specific wettie for the UK market but not here.

Tony L showed me his Mystic wettie which appeared way more kiter friendly. Thats of course if you live where you need one.

There's something wierd Tony L kites at same places as Sparrow but doesn't use a RipCurl wettie. You would think he could get a mates rates rip curl one.

Fo should also get a free one to go with his free best kites

Your slip is showing Moritz
--------------------------------
I was thinking, since the whole idea is to save this vest, for the good of kite freaks everywhere...

Perhaps a bulk order pricing would help facilitate the benevolence inherent in us all,,, but in full blossom in your benevolent bosom.

Salt of the Earth, this one.

So kind one, integrous,,,let's put some lip-stick on this pig...

fill-in the blank:

If I Steve, can secure promises for 200 vests we all can benefit by saving a WHOOPING $______ off of last years price of $169.

(Awesome vest unbeatable price)

Good on ya integrous, The promise of industry working for the little guy:

Once only a dream, thanks to you, a reality Today...

You deserve an award, I'm so very proud of you...

What other products can you save by bulk order? passing savings and the very best of the gear, on to all kiters for the good of kiters everywhere, just for the good contained in it.

Good gear for all, for the good of all, just

For the good in it......What a concept ! thanks.

Follow Steve's lead, give of yourself till it hurts people.

Giving back to kiting, it don't get more Right than that. .kudos

Cheers to you

Looks like Stevey doesn't want to play today... Must be busy taking all these Rip Curl impact vest orders.
It's all about demand and supply. Looks to me like there isn't enough interest in that vest in the first place. So why continue pushing it. Is it now any better than before? Maybe it now comes with a limited edition Kitepower sticker... or it's signed by Stevey himself...

I would buy one if it was signed by Stevey and Fo. I could probably sell that on ebay for quite a bit and have some cash to buy new kites.
