Hey guys,
Ive got a job offer going in Rocky, but am only considering places within half an hour to a kte beach.
Does anyone know if Rocky has any spots? and if so are they any good?
cheers

Yeppoon is the place, 1/2 hour drive down from Rocky. Either the main town beach or 2 mins North. Fantastic location with Keppel Islands behind!

AH come to yeppoon its a great spot. There is about 12 or so kitesurfers, maybe upto 20, but there is lot's of room> Downwinders for about 12 kilometers from in town to sandy point or vice versa depending on the wind direction.Mulumbin beach for waves,(mostly wind swell) emu park flat water, the list goes on.Only thing is bring some wind with you cause we are getting nothing here at the moment.

Where are you coming from? If you are living on the Sunny or Goldies don't leave. Central QLD sucks. If you can get a job elsewhere, go for it. Yeppoon wind is fickle, and extremely localised, to the extent where Gladstone and Mackey will be cranking and we have nothing. IMO Sunny Coast gets much better, and 'cleaner' wind then the Poon.
On a side note- you back from the Phillipines Andy?
