I have the same problem.

Not much fun today in today's seabreeze on a 13m Fuel when the 5th line keeps slipping through the cleat and powering the kite up

Not the problem (I don't think).

Can pull the 5th line in, but just won't stay in the cleat.

Bit annoying when all of a sudden the kite powers up in strong winds

on my 06 kitse the tightest part of the cleet seems to be pretty narrow try to make sure the line is on the bottem of the cleet.

Pull it all the way into the thin part of the cleat and your problem is solved

Have a look at the little barbs in the cleat, if they have lost their edge it will never work.
I replaced mine on an 12month old octane & problem solved

mine has never worked, the teeth are fine, just an average design i think. I only keep it on to help with quick re-launches.

Those new nylon cleats are **** i reckon, they flex under tension in gusts then release the 1 line. All u have to do is replace that cam cleat with the old metal ones or the carbon ones work 2 i hear. you can get em at sailing shops. depending on the size ot the cleat u mat have to grind the lip off the chicken loop. Ive done it on my machine and my 13 and never had a problem since.

how old is the bar/cleat/line. my new 5th line cleat works fine on the link, but the plastic cleat will wear its teeth out quick with the strong line they use. I used to piss through those plastic cleats sailing. alloy is the only way to go and they do not last long if using every day and pulling rope through them a lot. check out ronstan/harken to see if they make an alloy replacement. if they do let me know and I'll just replace mine now to save me having probs later.

I had the same problem, the only solution is to buy a new grab line in your local slingshot shop...

Have you tried waxing your line (melted candle wax). May give it a bit more hold if your cleats ok.

I bought the oneline kit as soon as the kit became available for my 2004 fuels.
I found the problem was that the one line thins out over time from use.Instead of my line bring round it was squashed.

I went to my local slingshot shop to buy a replacement oneline line but we noticed that its diamiter was thinner than the orginal one i had.
I then went to a Wentworths(boat/sailing shop) and bought some rope which is a little thicker than the original for a few dollars and rigged it up. Seems to work better than the original.

I feel its a great set up, just the one line isn't strong enough to holds its shape over time. It cost little and doesnt take much time to replace.

I had my oneline slipping bad the other day - turned out I had huge sand grains stuck in the cleat . Very coarse sand on the beach. Once I dislodged these I had no issues. Was a pain in the arse though as I had to land the kite and search for something on the beach to force the sand out.
