Well after much discussion on (and off) these forums we have all decided to unite our kiting powers. What started out as a club for Coolum it then progressed to Mudjimba then Peregian then Noosa now the entire coast. As talked about we will have sub branchs (Bigwavedave has already establised a great club down in Caloundra). But in the meantime we will have a regular down winder or rivermouth session followed by a bbq, or a kitesurfing DVD night at a local venue.

Our FIRST meeting is a down winder next Saturday 11th meeting at Tickle Park in Coolum. We will meet at 10:30am or if the wind isnt up then it will move to 1pm. If it is still blowing <13knots then the same meeting place and time(s) role over to Sunday.

The direction we travel will obviously be decided on the day, for traditions sake I rekon we do the same run we did for the off-the-lip classic. That way everyone knows the meeting points at either end (Tickle Park is about 800m south of Stummers where the Skate Park is). We should all meet at the top of the park where the entrance to the beach is). If its blowing an Easterly we will do the Rivermouth.

We already have a Sponsor on the day (Padi from Surfconnect) AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO DRUM UP BUSINESS FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. We are in the position to give out a prize to the best logo design for our T-Shirts. So get your artboards, ideas, and kites together and lets combine our forces for the first ever Sunshine Coast Kitesurfers meet.

Had such a good down winder today, conditions were awesome here...lets just hope that next WE is the same for our first get together.

Last weekend would have been sick - well it was but we didn't have the meeting then...

Sounds good !! I noticed the guys who left early saturday morning got the best wind as I stayed upwind at Stummers for hour and half (17knots), and later in the arvo got caught in a rain quall, sat at peregian waiting for the wind to pick up, before limping to Castaways. Vic (sorry for name dropping) has the novelty idea to slip a $note in his harness for a coffee at a cafe next time (like the old retiree's club cyclist's sitting down sipping capacino's after there hard morning excercise) sorry that's not me, but hey if next time we have a problem there's always the local & surf club halfway (PACK A PAIR OF THONGS DOWN YOUR PANTS regulated footwear). Beer and barbie's the go!.

Well the day is getting closer boys and girls... and the wind is still in the green WOOOHOOO! Looks like former TC Norman has reduced to a tropical low and is set to head SE so with any luck, a few voodoo dances and a chicken sacrafice we should get some nice waves. Oh btw no politics boys where customers not shop owners, let the shops dispute it amoungst themselves. Our job is to keep kiting cut the bullshyte and then kite some more . Any shop debates or war between stores please keep to a post that is NOT affiliated with this club cause it aint what we stand for.

This club is about stopping bans and getting together as a community SEEYA ALL ON SATURDAY.

If it still isnt blowing at 1:30 pm Sunday we will meet regardless for a bbq.

I live in Coolum, the wind is coming on. More south right now than SW, should get a little bit of east into it by 10am.

Sunny coast kitesurfers...the name voted for the new club by all who attended todays downwinder,yeah good turn out an there was heaps of people who did not come because they had other commitments!
Thanks to every one who showed up an to rooey for the beers at the end of the run and for being so orgainized.

some gr8 ideas being chucked around re safety and preservation of our favourite spots...looking good, a step in the right direction for kitesurfing......cheers
