HI all, we've just got back from visiting Denham on a choice escape, we had 5 out of six days kiting perfect side shore wind and shallow water as far as the eye can see. The wind cranked each morning 20-30 kn most mornings then swung to the south midday before getting seabreezes of 15-20kn in the arvo. While all the fronts were rolling in down south, we could just see the top of them far away on the horizon.
The tempreture was pretty good, we were all sun burnt by the second day , plenty of sun all week but it was a little chilly at night.
This did not stop a few riders taking advantage of 20 kn side shore and a huge spot light beaming out over an old perling lugger anchored in the bay at 10 pm. Needless to say the boys got an epic night in session and we got it all on film.
As a location for beginners there is simply no other spot as safe for kitesurfing with good winds in WA during our winter.
There are no real tide or current issues ,you are able walk around the bay freely.The flat shallow water, sandy bottom make it easy to progerss fast.
There is still a couple of months of nasty weather ahead of us down here in Perth.So if you want some good kitesurfing before summer, You dont need risk your life in foul fronts in Perth or leave the country. Perfect conditions are awaiting you in your own state!
