Hey I'm looking at buying some second hand gear to try and get into kitesurfing. I'm 85kg and live in Sydney's eastern suburbs so I will probably be around the Botany Bay Area to begin. I have found a guy selling a complete setup for around $500 the gear is as follows -
Slingshot fuel 13 kite (he thinks it's a 2010 or 2011)
137 slingshot board
Slingshot bar and lines
Slingshot pump
Dakine harness

He bought the gear with similar intentions to me but never ended up using it. He reckons it's all in excellent condition.
Would you guys reckon this is suitable to at least get me in the water and a bit of a feel for whether I want to go further and start spending some money on A more suitable setup??

Cheers

I learnt on Fuels (C Kites), and you probably can as well.

However there are more user friendly kites out there on the market. (Hybrid Kites)

Without seeing the gear price is good too.

Have a read below champ.

get him to set it up and see what condition it is in and if its all happy and air tight. if you can get in and going for that then i'd jump at it! its easier to learn on something and not be so concerned about the $$$$ too .

You have had lessons haven't you?

I wouldn't want to learn on a big old fuel.

Do yourself a favour and go see James at ProKite. He will hook you up with everything you need

If you don't know if you like it, y wouldn't you learn to ride first, then buy the equipment you want ? Much cheaper...
