I 've been doing it for about a year now(kiting that is)....I'm ok, but still a beginner.
I've got a 16 venom...I think it turns like a 747 so therefore have hells bells on light days.
I'm 90kgs should I get myself a new kite...if yes ...what and why?
thanks for any suggestions.

if your old stuff works, and you cant find anything better that you can justify the cost of forking out your hard earned dollars for, then dont bother buying anything new.

if your dollars are not hard earnt and/or you are a fashion victim then join the "I buy a new kite quiver every 8 months club" - the rest of us cant afford it...

everything from the last 2-3 years is still pretty good in my opinion...

I'm not sure where you kite, but having a 16 only limits the days you can go out. I'd try out some of the newer kites to see what the difference is and maybe get something around the 12m that would give you a better wind range than just a 16. But as Galah sais, it's really what value you put on your $ and how much you are willing to part with for this sport.

Personally, I had a 16m for the 1st 6months of kiting and then got a 14m Waroo. It has really lifted my enjoyment of the sport to a new level (except when there's no bloody wind!!! like now!!!)

A 16m Venom = approx 14m C = approx 12m bow.
For your weight I think it's a good choice.
ARC's aren't great for light wind. Probably good at around 15 knots up?
If you get the chance to try other types of kites, do it. There's C's, Bow's, 5th line hybrids, Flysurfers and ARC's. One kite quivers are OK, but I like to have a choice.....maybe that explains why I've got 7 bikes.....

Hey guys I normally kite around Newcastle...if I don't get stuffed around by the Newcastle Beach Nazzi...who recons he owns the beach.
The main reason i was thinking about a new kite is to get a faster turning response than my Boening 747 (Peter Lynn venom 16m).
