Anyone know how you can test if a pair of shades has got UV protection, and if they are quality. In Perth you sail into the sun every afternoon and am worried that even though I have shades, I am unknowingly frying my eyeballs. I don't want to pay a lot if I don't have to - already lost a pr of seaspecs on a crash landing.

I use a pair of Uvex Polarised Safety glasses, they come with a flaoting strap to replace the arms.
The beauty about them besides being polarising (can see the reef I'm about to hit) is that because they are safety glasses they are designed to take impact (very usefull for my sailing skills)
