The boss has approved the leave today & I'm starting to plan a trip up to Shark Bay in mid February next year, and plan to be in Dongara just in time for Kitestock.

If anyone else is likely to be up in that part of the world then, I'd love to hear from you & maybe we can organise some lengthy downwinders?

I'd be really keen to hear from anyone who's stayed up there previously for their recommended accommodation venues. I'm thinking of the self catered cabin/bungalow style of thing. There's quiet a bit up there but any suggestions greatly appreciated.

A great place to stay is here sharkbay.com.au/

You are right on the beach which is perfect. Roll out of bed, breakfast stroll down to beach rig up kite.

You are always kiting in shallow water around Denham, and it is flat as flat can be. Take booties cause there is stone fish and other nasties.

if you have a 4x4 head up to the big lagoon, massive flat water.
The little lagoon near town is gusty crap.

An excellent downwinder is from eagle bluff back to town, but make sure your gear etc is tip top, an unrepairable mistake means a long walk.

Feb is blowing its ass out all day every day and its hot as hot is. So take 7m to 12m kites

Lurch who lurks on these forums is the full bottle on the bay, he was up there for a couple of years email him for more help....www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Profile/Details.aspx?member=lurch

It really is a great kite spot. There is always incessant buffeting wind...
