AusPost may not take it as its too long. Greyhound is good but if they charge it as a surfboard, rate is $65. If ur stuck give us a yell, we can send it for u with our courier.
In the end, I used Greyhound Bus Freight. Cost $39 delivered to the door from Cairns to Rockingham, and they reckon 7-10 days which I think is pretty good.
Only drawback is they do not offer insurance. They do have a track and trace system though, and can give delivery confirmation on the other end.
The next cheapest quote that i got was up around the $80 range with another ground carrier. Air freight was ridiculously exxy just because of the size of the box.
i have bought a few boards, mainly NSW and Vic and they either used pack and send or registered through Aust Post. they both came in about 40 to 50 but only took about 5 days. Any of those ground lines like greyhound will be cheaper but will always take about twice the time.
i just went to go post a kite board then at australia post.and told me not over 105cm in legth it was only 135 by 39 To top that off 2 days ago i received a naish custom wide at 139 x47 in the same box by australian post.. WHAT THE...
