Hey Guys just another heads up, Another car was nearly broken into last night down Safety Bay in the carpark were comp was held.

Two dodgy looking men (Mid 20's) in a white holden commodore VN (Think). It has four spoke alloy wheels.
It pulled into the carpark and started trying to break a window with a shovel, whilst sitting in their own car.

When that didn't work they got out a brick.

Before they smashed the window a couple of local riders saw them and shouted over, the would be thieves burned off.

Keep your eyes out for this car, it is the same one spotted at several break ins.

Has anyone actually contacted the police, local government, state government and departments like the Tourism Council and have they had any input.

Seabreeze is so popular with visitors from all over the country and internationally and it amazes me that this is so rampant in the city - that said I reside in teh country where this is certainly not the norm.

Still reports and info like this has to be damaging our reputation as a safe place and great place to visit...

How hard can it be for the cops to catch some scrubbers in the carparks??

Hey, this sounds like the same guys who ripped us off at Shoalwater a few weeks ago, numberplate begins with 1CAT, but the police dont seem to have followed up, so the bastards are getting bolder as they havent had any consequences to their actions.

Anyone got any ideas how we can get the cops to do a bit more about this, seeing they have been given partial plates and descriptions????

I am not a violent person by nature, but this pushes all the right buttons make me want to take action....

We reported a break-in in progress 2 seasons back with full description of offenders and their vehicle (motor bike with no plates) and the direction they headed off in when we sprung them (thought we had them but the roo bar just missed damn close though).
Waited around for about an hour & a half - no police show at all.
Mistake, apparently, was including ethnic detail/colour in our report. If we had said they white caucasians (preferably in suits & ties) then we may have got an instant response.
Not the cops fault really - they just get sick of doing all the slog of prosecuting only to see them walk free from the courts over & over & over & over again.
Pity judges aren't kitesurfers (or at least get out occassionally).

I read a joke once, but i dont see why it wouldnt work.
Im gonna make it really short.
Guy gets home, burglars in garage, rings police."sorry sir, noone available in the area, leave them alone ad stay quiet".He calls back in five minutes "Dont worry about sending anyone over, i just shot the lot of them". Police choppers, swat squad etc show up, catch the crooks red handed. Police approach man "you said you shot them all", he replys "you said noone in the area".
But im sure that owuld get a good quick response.

Like it! Try and remember for next time!

In my case cops arrived (too late), but then did no follow up, even with multiple witnesses and descriptions.... thats whats the annoying bit.

Hi Guys,

Cops are not interested in petty crime like B&E. I had a laptop stolen from my bus and had good fingerprints on the window where they got in, Freo police told me to fill in a report and then I think it gets filed in File 13 (shredder). They purposely smudged the fingerprints becasue there was no one at the precinct that could dust anyway. The thieves are petty crims who have long history of misdemeanor crime and the judges just give them a smack on the wrist. Police are short staffed and dont put the effort in for no reward ie lockup.

We had an incident at Pinnaroo where a guy ran out of the bushes attacking another guy and his girl on the beach with a 2 foot long 1/2 drive socket steel wrench. It put a hole you could drop 50 cent pieces into, in the top of the guys skull. We packed his skull with gauze to prevent blood loss and to stop his brain leaking out and immediately called Ambos and Police as we had apprehended the culprits. It took the ambos 35 minutes to arrive. After 40 minutes of waiting for the cops, I rang again as there was mention one of the guys had a gun in his car. The cops were there in under 5 minutes! Hmmmmm

I think the only way to stop these vermin is with a severe citizens beating. [}:)]

Good winds and dorry to the people being ripped off, I know it hurts!

Hey all

My car was done over last week up at Leighton beach (WA), there was nothing on show but the tried the smash and grab anyway. The glove box and ash tray were left open and they even tried to rip the back seat out to try and get in the boot (I deactivated the in car boot release) glad to say without success.

I have been kiting for a few years now so it must have been time for me to loose my car break in cherry !.

Arranged for the window to be replaced ($385 ) but having to wait about a week because the company fixing me up have had apparently 500 smash and grabs over the last couple of weeks !.

This is obviously a very common occurrence, you think the cops would set up a couple of sting cars to catch some of the low life scum.

If the cops are so short of manpower to stop these break-ins I’m sure they could find plenty of kiters, surfers etc eager to volunteer some time, all we need is one cop on call, available to back us up when we catch one of the fu***rs. Even if they weren’t prosecuted I would certainly feel a lot better, may make them think twice especially if they received a couple of accidental bruises while being apprehended !. We could even try to organise it with the local ranger service or even the neighbourhood watch group if the cops couldn’t help.

Just a thought, would be glad to volunteer some time.

Cheers

Mark

I had a push bike stolen a long time ago. Anyway long story short, we caught the guy in the act riding off the driveway as we where pulling. We chased him, then my mates uncle gave him some free boxing lessons from a golden gloves perspective. facially he didn't look beaten up, but I think the rib ticklers he recieved made him reconsider the stealing game. A off duty cop stood and watched the whole thing, he then came over and said we did the right thing. He explained that it would have gone nowhere if the cops where called, he would be back on the street 2 hours later doing the same thing.

Moral of the story is, approach with caution and in numbers if possible. Do not inflict permanent or life threatening damage, but do teach them that you don't take kindly to their behaviour and attitude towards others private property. Ribs are a good place to start.

I'm happy to assist in any setup job in Safety Bay if someone has a plan.

There are cops around, I saw some in West Perth just a couple of weeks ago apprehending dangerous criminals jay walking at the corner of Hay and Colin streets. Luckily all criminals caught put up little effort to be detected and gave themselves up without resistance, the lowly crims must have been in a rush to get back to work to make an honest living to pay some more tax

Might be the time of year. I know criminals commonly increase their activity just before christmas to get some christmas money (believe it or not, its true).

Ever thought of giving the cops some bad publicity to get a reaction? Approach the newspaper, tell them the cops don't react and you're ready to take the law into your own hands because it seems to be the only way to get justice. The cops will be forced to react to prevent mob justice, particularly if there has been public warning about it.

Of course there is a shortage of cops must take ages to put innocent people like Andrew Mallard in jail.

We should set up a camera at some of these hotspots then if the cops do nothing with the evidence give it to the local papers.

Wedgie .... If you get footage of these skum get it to one of the TV shows like today tonight etc .. they LOVE that sort of stuff ... 'police ingnore crime wave' you know what I mean .... and I reckon it could only help your area if you did manage to get some film.
1 it would put pressure on the authorities to up their ante
2 it would publicly shame/identify the skum you sprung
3 may even deter other **** heads from giving it a go
4 you could always post youtube with a vid of the boys and their phone books

Bummer to hear of all the breakins though guys .... pure crap ... these ppl are a stain on the land

Happy Days
