All the european short tackers should just go find another beach

What sort of idiot thinks it's appropriate to tack in front of you when you are making your apporach to the beach and be in your riding in front of you so you can't do anything.

All the local guys give people heading into the beach room so they dont mess up their tricks. Some a*hole heroes think its ok to stay within 50m of the shoreline perpetually and not give kiters going into the beach any clear runs.

Its just like dropping into someone else's wave.

Why don't you just go further down / up the beach to get away from them?

I have several issues with this.

1) Why attack short people? Its not their fault their arsehole is closer to the ground than yours, Even though they are stunted, they have fair rights to a piece of ocean just like you. Now if they were short and ginger that would be a different story. Mocking them would be fair game!

2) What lepper does tricks coming into the beach? Hit some kickers like a man on the way out!

3) Whose to say you aren't just a long tacker pissing everyone off with your stupid long tacks and gay non kicker hitting inbound tricks?

4) Are you one of these sheeple that insist on mowing +/- 20m from your launch site? Get some freaken balls and be adventurous. The ocean is bloody big. Use a slightly different piece of water than the short ginger!

After all you don't want to catch gingivitis.... You would be forced to open a hot bread shot call "Gingernuts" and you would become the gingerbreadman. Do you really want people biting down on your gingernuts?

Imagine if you where a black man that caught gingavitus from a shot tacking Ginga!. You would then be able to add your chocolate salty balls recipe in your gingernuts shop.

Now that would make it all worthwhile

I'm losing my voice shouting at short tackers at my beach and they're not Euros, they're ignorant, shortsighted local c u n t s who dont even know what short tacking is. Google it you f u c k w i t s.

Short tacking is an issue in certain places and it's highly self centered, but more importantly it completely messes up the line up. I've seen it first hand at the pond lately, whereby there may be a lot of riders in the water but there is a good rotation happening.

One douch bag short tracker hits the water and the whole thing goes to crap and others also start riding oblivious to anyone else. Becomes a mess and actually dangerous at times.

But hey that's human nature I suppose.

I would like to see some signs put up at kite spots similar to the ones you see at surf spots explaining the basic rules

At least that way people can see that there are an agreed upon set of rules

A lot of the spots around the perth area there is one specific part of the beach that is the best part and some people think it's ok to do short tacks back and forth just across the best part. This usually blocks the flow and means that no one can properly utilise that part of the beach.

If someone short tacks you a dirty trick to pull is to ride directly up wind from them with your kite nice and low above their head. If there a little underpowered they will almost definitely stall. I am sure I will get flamed for making this suggestion but it works and definitely gets the message across

I'm all for short tacking as I'm competent to gain ground without having to go out to the horizon. Once you work it out you'll realize that staying in the fun stuff is where its at, not continually mowing the lawn.

Yes I am with you on this one however adding an extra 200 meters or so just out of courtesy usually aids in maintaining a good rotation. Often just one or 2 riders hogging the good part of the beach will F*** it up for everyone

I'm all for riding to other ground Plummet. But some times there's only one beach to kite on because of conditions so everyone has to share it. And the flat water nearer to the shore is the choice freestyle area.

And I agree its usually one or two idiots who are semi-mediocre, who do mediocre tricks for their girl friends with cameras on the beach, they mess it up, spend 5 minutes with their kite down on the water, so mess up anyone's approach, relaunch, since they didn't do anything really significant, they don't have to spend 10 minutes kiting up wind like everyone else, they ride out 50m, short tack, repeat whole process.

It's got to the point where 80% of approaches are messed up because some idiot has to tack 5m in front of you instead of letting you pass then turning around.

This post should be addressed to Newbies and Visiting Kiters.

My apologies to European Kiters, it's just everyone begins to look like a backpacker after awhile.

Hey i must be a bit of a kook cause i dont kite at the pond. and i dont fully understand short tacking.

just wondering (serious) lets say everyones riding in a circuit, being nice to each other, average distance say 100m apart, heaps of room to do their backrolls in front of the euro chicks. If you're heading outward mowing the lawn (no kickers at the pond), and theres a big gap between two kiters coming in... say 200m... is it ok to turn around and take up the free space?

or does that make you a short tacking a**hole hero euro bitch? are you meant to keep tacking out to infinity just cause no one else has learnt to edge upwind properly?

I always found that a bit weird.

Doesnt bother me much as I actually get quite happy to see visiting euro kiters at my beach, its that empty.
