Hi there. I'm looking at buying my first kite, live in Bunbury WA and
want to get a good one to learn on and take me up to intermediate level at least. These two kites seem pretty good. Does anybody have any comments on these, I'm not particularly interested in getting an older one. Thanks

ordinarilly, I would say you're mad to have an expensive first kite, as you will trash it a bit. Better to keep your money for the next kite, say in 12 months. There are lots of good 2nd hand kites on this site.
BUT, having had my 06 fuel for a whole week now, I can say its head and shoulders above my 05. The huge depower will be good for a newbie, though perhaps a little FAST.
Anyone want to buy my old 9 and 11m fuels?

One pump, unmatched safety system( too much to list), insane allround kite, 5th line relaunch, great accessory such as real metal gage on pump and metal pump shaft, awsome bag that will cary everything you need to go kiting. unbelievable depower, individual kite, canopy colours, Stong constuction for waves, and learners, Dvd to show you how it all works. The best uhooked flying kite on the market, not that you need to know about that just yet. Slingshot has done all the thinking for you so all you have to do is think about what you re going to try to do. Dont waste your time with anything else, the down side is that once you bye it you wont want to try other kites.

Ok you have heard all the hype by the boys .
I am sposored by Airush so I won't bother trying to tell you the tech differences .
The biggest thing that you want to look at is after sales service .
I suggest that you come up to Perth and call in at Airborne , they sell Airush .
They are also the Australian distributors so there is usually plenty of stock available so that you can choose things like colours or swap and change bars .
They will also sort you out with a demo board so that you can make up your mind before you buy .
Then to be fair go to the Slingshot retailer and talk to them .
That way you can make an informed decision based on what suits you .

Thanks for your opinions folks I appreciate it. I've spent a lot of time flying super fast stunt kites down the beach as well as a load of surfing and snowboarding time so fast kites aren't a problem. It's also why I didn't really want an older or beginners model as there appears to be massive improvements made over last years models. I suspect my need to surf waves will tip me into a slinghot but I will try the shops out and see how I feel then.
Thanks again.
