Hi have finally got my motivation to do something about my problem.

I have a SX 122 Slingshot Board from 2004.

I have threaded all the holes for screws for my footstraps and every session i have to come in and put em back in.

Somehow i have also threaded one of the holes for my fins :) thats what wakestyle will do

Anyway i was just gunna epoxy them in or something any smarter ideas?

see if you can use longer screws (not so long that they bottom out)
and use thread locker or nail varnish (if you have some)

go to some sort of shop where they can tap the thred larger, and just use a wider screw for them. May cost some money though.

try wrapping plumbers thread tape around the screw prior to tightening it up, or a little bit of silicon on the thread, or try the thin ring of plastic around the top of a drink bottle - just shove it in the hole and screw back in. Or Loctite thread locker.

Buy a tap and put a bigger thread in them .Bill Slingshot for it .Sounds they have put the wrong inserts in the board.I think they would be gratefull if you told them as well!

I had the same problem, I installed the SS Posilock Footstrap Fastners to fix it. It has a plate that two selftaping screws go into the board either side of the old hole and a bolt that comes up for the footstraps to attach onto with a nylock nut. You will never have any troubles again with your foot strapes coming loose again if you install it. See your Local SS dealer for them, they are not expensive to get.

It takes 10 minutes to do it yourself. 12mm spanner and a phillip heads screwdriver is all that is required.

You mean, you have "stripped" the threads. Thats the correct term for what has happened.
Get the posilocks from SS to fix the footstraps or get a larger self tapper screw, if that is what was in the board originally?
I thought they had metal thread screws and inserts in the board?
If you have stripped one of them that is a leave the board at a board repairer job. Tapping out an insert is often not possible, but will also mean buying or borrowing drills and taps or getting someone else to do it.

The fin should be easy, mix up some araldite, only a tiny bit is needed, put some in the threaded hole that the screw goes into, and a tiny bit on the last few threads of the screw. Put the fin back on and don't tighten the screw very much, should be able to tighten it a little bit more after the araldite has hardened.
Or buy a new fin.

Well i epoxyed my screw holes in then drill them out and retaped the screws back in. Worked well for like a session then i threaded the epoxy....

I need a setup that will definately not **** up next time.
Is there a cheap do it urself method but i don't really want to put in bigger screws cuz i will probably just rip em out again.

what do you reckon if i used 2 screws...

Why do you keep stripping the thred on your board?!?

You dont normally have to do screws up tight, and always be careful before you tighten them to make sure there sitting in the thred correctley
