Why do they only seem to use foils in snowsurfing and not LEI kites as well?
Is it possibly because they are too heavey or because they are too prone to bladder problems, hence possibly leaving a person stranded out in the snow.
Any ideas?
We use both on the water!!

relaunch! 5th doesnt work on snow very well at all.
durability! Yeah, snows a bit abrasive on the leading edge!
Ease of setup! pinching valves when its ****en cold, lol

Foil's & Bow's are perfect for snowkiting as they seem to have all the requirements for self launching without the viscousity that water provides to flip the kite on it's back. In saying that I have seen plenty of films with guys riding "c" kite and simply using a 5th line.

Foils :
You can cart em around as they are really light and compact
pack em away and snowboard back to your lodge.
no pumps to carry and do damage to yourself, rigs and away in about 30 seconds,
not the sort of sport to leave your geear lying around on the park.
slower in the air means safer
you can drop em in a second if in danger
you can carry two, one in the air and 1 in your pack they are less than a kilo.
