AN Australian adventurer is attempting to break the world speed record this year with a hybrid glider-boat which can reach speeds of more than 100km an hour.

UK-based Paul Larsen, originally from Healesville in Victoria, hopes to break the record held by a kite surfer with his Vestas Sailrocket 2 in Namibia, Africa.

How should we go about a retaliation/sabbotage of this blatant and asinine attack on kitesurfers?

Hey guys, just remember there will always be another challenger. They have been hard at it for quite a few years. That's life, eh. Wing sail, computers, sounds very complicated to me. But can these guys with a big budget get their gear out of the car, rig in 5 minutes and go smash a few waves or whatever and have a great after work session. I don't think so. Very difficult to beat simplicity and that is what we have. My 2 cents worth.

There are a few guys out there that are pushing the limit and I wouldn't call any of them a tool, especailly if you're only holding on to other people's achievements.

Kite, Sail, Surf, who cares. A lot of kiters surf, sail and vice versa and that project looks frigging awesome - and he's got balls!

Here is another interesting one, 202.9 kmh on wind power. earthfirst.com/wind-powered-vehicle-breaks-world-speed-record/

Imagine the $$ spent on such a boat... The Carbon cloth alone in that shot of him inside it would have cost the same as a 7m Switchblade or whatever the last record was broken on!

Haha I'm sure he's a top bloke! It was a stupid satirical stubborn surfing of kite joke.

Thats why it was built in the UK.............. it would still be 5 years away and way over budget if it was developed here.
