Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on Sorrento Victoria for beginner kiters. I've just started getting into the sport and wanted to know if there is a good kiting community around the Sorrento area? best places to learn to kite and if you can recommend any good IKO instructors etc.

I'm moving from the east coast and in the next month or so and wanted to take up a new sport apart from surfing.

Thanks heaps!!

Not so much around sorrento but a few km up the road at Rosebud you will find a big kiting community at either Carpark 14 or the footy oval. Rye is another excellent flat water kiting area

+1 for Rosebud for beginners. Winds seem much steadier, heaps of room and shallow water.

Get a pair of booties as well, it is starting to get a tad nippy.

Rosebud is great in a northerly. Can be not too bad in a westerly. Ok in east with a bit of north. Not good in east or southerly. Head over to Balnarring or Pt Leo for east or southerly.
